The Boise RAM Awarded with Two Medals at North American Beer Awards!

BOISE, ID – The RAM Restaurant and Brewery was recognized by the North American Brewers’ Association at the 19th Annual North American Beer Awards in conjunction with the Mountain Brewers Beer Fest on June 5th in Idaho Falls, Idaho. The Boise RAM was awarded two medals, including one silver and one bronze. The company also won two additional bronze medals with brews from the Tacoma and Indianapolis locations. “It’s exciting to continue our medal winning tradition at the North American Beer Awards. As we celebrate 20 years of brewing our brewers have won 77 NABA medals. It showcases the quality, creativity and passion of our brewery team,” stated Director of Brewery Operations, Dave Leonard who was extremely happy with the medals won.

Long-time RAM Brewer Jake Talbot from the Boise RAM location, won a silver in the American-Style Strong Ale category for Lost Reindeer. “It was nice to win with this winter ale, especially in the summer. I have been brewing this beer every year for the past 10+ years and finally found the right category for the NABA competition for success. The Lost Reindeer also won a Bronze in 2014, so a silver this year was a pretty cool accomplishment!” said Talbot.

The Boise RAM and Jake also brought home a bronze in the Marzen-Oktoberfest Lager category for the Owyhee Oktoberfest. “I was stoked to win with Oktoberfest, that’s 3 years in a row (Silver in 2014 and Gold in 2013)! Brewed with all German ingredients and a specific lager yeast strain, this beer is created with the goal of being as authentic as possible.”

“Not only is this a great event for brewers, it was also shooting to raise a million dollars for charities this year! It is amazing to be a part of it with many thanks to The RAM for letting me make good beer!” said Talbot.

In addition to the Boise medals, The RAM also won a bronze medal for the Or De Levasseur in the Biere De Garde category, brewed by Blake Miller who proudly represents the Tacoma RAM location. Indianapolis RAM Brewer, Shawn Byrnes, also brought home a bronze for the Steel Cut Stout in the Oatmeal Stout category.

The RAM’s Bigger, Better, Fresher beers are locally brewed and nationally recognized. Focusing on quality, consistency, and drinkability, The RAM has been rewarded over the years with guest loyalty and industry recognition since 1995.
