The RAM Awarded Two Medals at the Washington Beer Awards!

LAKEWOOD, WA – The RAM Restaurant and Brewery continued their Northwestern success bringing home two bronze medals from the 3rd Annual Washington Beer Awards at the Washington Brewers Festival on Saturday, June 20th. RAM Brewer, Bill Jenkins, from the Northgate RAM Location was awarded for The RAM’s Flagship Blonde Ale and Chachi Rodriguez from The RAM’s production facility in Tacoma was honored for a RAM rotating spring seasonal beer, the Maibock.
“It’s exciting to win a couple of medals at the Washington Beer Awards. It’s awesome to get another medal for our Blonde, which pours at all locations year round and shows the passion and quality of our brewers. This year’s Maibock was one of my favorite batches to date. It was an awesome helles bock. We look forward to that seasonal selection every spring,” said Dave Leonard, Director of Brewing Operations.

The competition is “a way to celebrate Washington’s growing brewing culture and recognize excellance in craft.” The judging for the Washington Beer Awards were held on May 30th, drawing over 700 entries from 70 breweries from across the state. Medals were awarded in 45 different categories by a panel who evaluated beers spanning 100 styles from the Brewers Association Beer Style Guidelines. The Boise RAM Awarded with Two Medals at North American Beer Awards!

BOISE, ID – The RAM Restaurant and Brewery was recognized by the North American Brewers’ Association at the 19th Annual North American Beer Awards in conjunction with the Mountain Brewers Beer Fest on June 5th in Idaho Falls, Idaho. The Boise RAM was awarded two medals, including one silver and one bronze. The company also won two additional bronze medals with brews from the Tacoma and Indianapolis locations. “It’s exciting to continue our medal winning tradition at the North American Beer Awards. As we celebrate 20 years of brewing our brewers have won 77 NABA medals. It showcases the quality, creativity and passion of our brewery team,” stated Director of Brewery Operations, Dave Leonard who was extremely happy with the medals won.

Long-time RAM Brewer Jake Talbot from the Boise RAM location, won a silver in the American-Style Strong Ale category for Lost Reindeer. “It was nice to win with this winter ale, especially in the summer. I have been brewing this beer every year for the past 10+ years and finally found the right category for the NABA competition for success. The Lost Reindeer also won a Bronze in 2014, so a silver this year was a pretty cool accomplishment!” said Talbot.

The Boise RAM and Jake also brought home a bronze in the Marzen-Oktoberfest Lager category for the Owyhee Oktoberfest. “I was stoked to win with Oktoberfest, that’s 3 years in a row (Silver in 2014 and Gold in 2013)! Brewed with all German ingredients and a specific lager yeast strain, this beer is created with the goal of being as authentic as possible.”

“Not only is this a great event for brewers, it was also shooting to raise a million dollars for charities this year! It is amazing to be a part of it with many thanks to The RAM for letting me make good beer!” said Talbot.

In addition to the Boise medals, The RAM also won a bronze medal for the Or De Levasseur in the Biere De Garde category, brewed by Blake Miller who proudly represents the Tacoma RAM location. Indianapolis RAM Brewer, Shawn Byrnes, also brought home a bronze for the Steel Cut Stout in the Oatmeal Stout category.

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – The RAM Restaurant and Brewery was recognized by the North American Brewers’ Association at the 19th Annual North American Beer Awards in conjunction with the Mountain Brewers Beer Fest on June 5th in Idaho Falls, Idaho. The Indianapolis RAM was awarded a bronze medal to add to the company’s haul with also included two additional bronze medals and a silver medal awarded to brews out of Washington and Idaho RAM locations. “It’s exciting to continue our medal winning tradition at the North American Beer Awards. As we celebrate 20 years of brewing our brewers have won 77 NABA medals. It showcases the quality, creativity and passion of our brewery team,” stated Director of Brewery Operations, Dave Leonard who was extremely happy with the medals won.

Indianapolis RAM Brewer, Shawn Byrnes, brought home a bronze for the Steel Cut Stout in the Oatmeal Stout category. “To win any award in brewing is a great accomplishment! It will inspire the brew crew and everyone in the building. This was my first time in this event and I will be looking forward to next year!” said Byrnes of his win.

The RAM Welcomes the US Open with a Limited Edition Beer

LAKEWOOD, WA- The RAM Restaurant & Brewery is excited to welcome the U S Open at Chambers Bay with the tapping of their Lone Tree Kolsch small batch seasonal beer. This brilliant, golden hued German-style Kolsch is inspired by a Lone Fir perched off the 15th green. Brewed with Pilsner malt and Azzaca Hops, it is light bodied with a crisp malt profile and a refreshing hop finish.

Director of Brewing Operations said,” It’s exciting to have this Major golf event in town and we wanted to brew a special beer to welcome fans as we continue to celebrate our 20th year as a brewery! Kolsch is a favorite style of ours, it pairs perfectly with summer in the Sound and is ideal for relaxing after a round on the links.”

Leonard added that, “Fresh and local Lone Tree Kolsch will be available at all 11 Puget Sound RAM locations now and for a limited time.”
