Sonrisa Modern Mex Restaurant is now open at University Village!

Sonrisa’s menu is inspired by the complexity of Mexico’s diverse regions balancing innovation and traditional, spice and sweetness, using the highest quality, fresh, authentic and native ingredients whenever possible.

Third generation chef (from Zamora Michocan Mexico), Marco Chavez’s inspiration for every dish comes from his love of traditional authentic Mexican cuisine. Some of Marco’s Sonrisa recipes have been in his family for over 60 years.

Sonrisa is lively and inviting! The colors represent a strong Latin influence while modernizing the traditional Mexican feel. Deep shades of brick red and mole-sauce brown blend well with splashes of ocean blue and the spicy greens of roasted chilies.

Sonrisa is today’s version of a great Mexican dining experience and you will see that when you walk into the door.

Open everyday at 11 am, Sonrisa proudly serves Lunch and Dinner in addition to a daily happy hour. With over 50 tequilas, the bar boasts “The Best House Margarita in Seattle,” in addition to your favorite cocktail, wine or beer.

Sonrisa Modern Mex is family owned and operated by Ram International in Lakewood. The Company has 28 Restaurants including the Ram Restaurants and Breweries located throughout the region in addition to C.I. Shenanigans in Tacoma.
